SNC Creative Arts team is for individuals who are gifted/skilled in/passionate about Creative ideas/Visual Arts/Design /Production/Media/ Drama /Dance/ Writing and the possibilities of creative arts to express biblical concepts and communicate ideas in a way that is relevant to the church community (and beyond). Being a part of the team simply entails a commitment to be a part of the activities and items we create as often as you can afford. More importantly it is about a willingness to administer your gifts faithfully as an act of service.

While holding fast to an unshakable personal resolution to avoid being a part of the facebook generation, I do enjoy using the most effective means of communication. The art of email- the wittingly word-smithd, html-encoded, emoticon enriched letter writing of the 21st C, is often lost on those who would prefer information to only come in the form of 140 character tweeted messages. So I hijacked lizzie's account and now Creative Arts is on facebook- why not become a fan?

A publication is made up of many things -nifty ideas, talented designers, people with stories to share and penmanship worth its weight in print....and, we have come to learn, the final ingredient is TIME.

The fist issue of The Foundling (thats what it's called by the way....oh I know it's sad- Sweater Dog was really close to winning that debate for a while) will be finished layout within a few weeks and should be printed by mid-late september.

Project Brief: Christmas is a reflective time, a time when deeper yearnings might well up in our hearts; another year is near its end; life is racing away; ...time to pause and think about life and eternity. Jesus has come from the eternal frame of heaven to dwell with us for a short time in our temporary frame of earth.

Found this piece of work by a guy called Dave Barnes. It got me thinking about something we could possibly do for the christmas eve service, using a door as a metaphor for time. I know you can get doors from reverse garbage.
